Benefits of sustainable building design in real estate

Sustainable design and construction can provide economic, environmental and social benefits as a result of the responsible use of resources and how the building will affect the environment.

Economic benefits

There is a belief that building eco-smart is more expensive than not doing it. Depending on a number of factors, many green buildings cost the same or even less than a traditional building because of the more effective resource management strategies that allow reducing electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.Incorporating green strategies into the first steps of the project is key to the success of any green building.

Energy

The cost of energy consumption is perhaps the most immediate economic benefit of applying sustainable design in a building, due to the implementation of eco-efficient strategies. On average a green building uses 30% less than a conventional building.

Water

Through the combination of a series of water conservation strategies, these types of buildings usually require 25% less than a traditional building . Some of these buildings conduct and store rainwater collected from the decks and recycle part of the gray water for various systems, such as irrigation of gardens or sanitary systems.

Environmental benefits

Green architecture, by using less energy, generates less CO2 through its operation, avoids the production of greenhouse gases and contributes less to the phenomenon of global warming.
