A bench, comprising Chief Justice Hima Kohli and Justice B Vijaysen, directed all zonal officials to furnish details against illegal buildings and action took them. It also sought action taken report against errant staff members across 30 circles, who had allegedly helped illegal encroachers to flourish in the city.

The matter came up during the hearing of two petitions filed by G. Nageswar Rao and G. Praveen Kumar, seeking to stop the demolition of building floors that were built illegally. The court has also directed GHMC to furnish details of all individual owners, who have sought stay orders against the demolition of illegal structures. The next date of hearing is on April 15, by which GHMC will be required to furnish the court with all the details it had asked for.
