On Monday, K.T. Rama Rao, India's Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, will take part in a ceremony to lay the groundwork for the construction of five bridges over the rivers Esa and Musi.
According to the findings of the aforementioned studies, building a series of bridges across the river from Narsingi to Gowrelli, a distance of 55 kilometres, will be the preferred strategy for easing traffic congestion within the city itself.
A press release claims that a study was done to determine how many bridges will be needed in light of projected traffic and new construction.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) would build four-lane bridges on the Musi River at Manchirevula, HMDA Layout Uppal Bhagayath and Pratap Singaram, and 2 bridges on the Esa River in Budvel IT Park.
The project has received 168-crore administrative approval, and 139-crore worth of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) bids have been solicited.
It is estimated that it will take 15 months to build all of the bridges.
Mr Rao and other high-ranking officials and leaders will take part in the laying of the cornerstone for all five bridges at Uppal Bhagayath.
