What are they?
e-Auctions are a transaction between sellers (auctioneers) and the bidders that take place on an electronic 
marketplace which is also considered to be the most transparent way of conducting an auction according to 
the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Do you want to buy plots in Hyderabad?
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) earned a total revenue of 116 crores from 
plots for sale in Hyderabad, Bachupally, Medchal Malkajgiri district. This auction was conducted on the 2nd 
and 3rd March with 50 open plots for sale in Hyderabad sold on the first day and 23 on the second day. 
First 50 plots earned them 80 crores and the other 23 fetched them 35 crores making a total of a whopping 
116 crores.
As per HMDA, the upset value of the auctioned plots was 49 crores which got 135% of the upset value with 
this e-Auction. The average upset price per square yard was Rs. 25,000 and the highest during the bid being 
Rs. 68,000 per square yard for a plot in Bachupally.
