Land Conversion Tax to be Applicable in Telangana

For the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural uses, the state has fixed rates for conversation revenue. The revenue department released a GO on Wednesday.

The conversation tax would be 2% of the basic value of the land in the areas protected by the GHMC and 3% of the basic value of the land in areas other than the GHMC for the conversion of agricultural land for non-agricultural purposes.

This will come into force with immediate effect, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar said.

Another GO dated December 16, 2020, was released by the department, which claimed that the Telangana Agricultural Land (a conversation for non-agricultural purposes) (Amendment) Act will enter into effect on 16 December 2020.
