To ensure its people happiness, the state capital has again risen ahead of other metro cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai. It is demonstrated by the recent rankings of Swachh Survekshan 2020.

Hyderabad as Best Mega City in Citizen Feedback

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was rated No.1 in the Best Mega City in Citizen Feedback category above forty lakhs of the population as per the rankings released by the Central Government on Thursday. And the City Body also strengthened its position on the list last year which was ranked 23rd in the Out 10 Lakh of Population category for overall performance, again beating other metros Cities.

GHMC is also recognized for adopting a wide range of modern and innovative developments, including its Green Kiosks, India's first exclusive Dog Park, its twin plastic bins and the Feed the Need initiative.

Swachh Survekshan – 2020 Campaign

The campaign 'Swachh Survekshan – 2020' provides city rankings, separately for one or more lakhs (national rankings) and below a lakh (state and zonal rankings). The evaluation is based on progress made in the Swachh Bharat urban mission (SBM-U) covering 4,384 cities between January 2019 and December 2019.

As a league to ensure the sustainability of cleanliness all year long in the three quarters of 2019, the Swachh Survekshan campaign was carried out. Around January – February 2020, MoHUA conducted the annual cleanliness survey for Swachh Survekshan 2020.

The ranking methodology was based on four criteria with 6,000 marks, including the improvement made in service level with 1,500 marks (documentation submitted by the ULB through its 200 marks portal of the Swachh Survekshan 2020 league), direct observation (field inspection based) with 1500 marks, Citizen feedback with 1,500 marks,  and certification of Star Rating and ODF/ODF+/ODF++ with 1500 marks. The GHMC obtained 4047 marks out of the 6,000 marks.
