Telangana: Rs 4304 Cr allocated for the Pattana Pragati programme.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government said on Tuesday that it will disburse Rs 4304 crore to 142 local authorities, including the GHMC, beginning February 20 as part of its Pattana Pragati initiative. 

91.44 percent (Rs3936 crore) of the total funds have already been used for infrastructure development under the programme, with Rs 2276 crore allotted for the usage of GHMC and Rs 2028 crore for the remaining 141 municipalities. 

The initiative was started by the state's minister of information technology, KT Rama Rao, and garnered annual national accolades. 

4,356 tonnes of trash are produced daily, and 2165 new sanitation vehicles have been purchased to collect the garbage from homes. 

The government, through Harita Haram, to implement "Prakriti Vanalu" (urban natural forests) in 3468 wards to plant 2.14 crore trees by 2023–2024 with funding of Rs 779 crore that has been provided. Trade licenses have contributed Rs 128.97 lakhs to the Harita Nidhi, and government employees have contributed Rs 14.28 lakhs. 

While the work in 297 Vaikuntadhamams has already been finished, the state government has also approved 453 Vaikuntadhamams in 141 local bodies.
