Amazon launches Amazon Air in India

To enhance the transportation network and provide faster deliveries, Amazon has launched Amazon Air at GMR Aero Technic.

Telangana minister KT Rama Rao formally inaugurated Amazon Air at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), which aims at strengthening Amazon’s distribution network and providing faster deliveries to buyers.

It has collaborated with Quikjet to launch its air freight service.

It plans to utilise the entire cargo capacity of a Boeing 737-800 plane and perform deliveries in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi.

KTR said that Amazon is the first e-commerce company in India to partner with a third-party carrier.

He also said that Amazon is working with Telangana’s handlooms department in helping over 4500 weavers in 56 villages.

In addition, he mentioned that Air traffic has been increasing immensely at RGIA and is expected to hit the 40 million mark by 2028.

The Vice President stated that this launch would support 1.1 million sellers.
