AP State Government Plans to Complete Tidco houses Allotment by December 20

The AP state government has planned to assign houses built by the Tidco (Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation). It has directed district collectors and municipal commissioners to complete the allocation by December 20.

Proposed Township & Infrastructure Development Corporation (Tidco)

Sources stated banks inability to offer loans to beneficiaries was the primary reason for the delay in the handing over of housing units.

Municipal Administration Minister Botcha Satyanarayana stated that Municipal commissioners and officials of the Mission of Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (Mepma) were instructed to coordinate with the banks in order to finalise the relation between the banks.

During the TDP rule in urban areas, Tidco initiated the development of nearly 5 lakh houses in the G+3 apartment model. Even though a little before the general election, the government decided to hand over the housing units, it could not do so because most of the systems were not completed by the time the notice of the election was released.

Sources said that the basic structure of almost 2.6 lakh houses was finished in different towns. In contrast, the work on the remaining 2.4 lakh did not begin due to various technical problems, including pending land acquisition.
