Rs.2,000 crores to be earned through auctions in Telangana 

The government anticipates to earn Rs.2,000 crores by auctioning open plots and lands in three districts of HMDA and seven other districts. 

These auctions began this February as part of resource mobilization for the state government. They earned about Rs.5,000 crores through auctions. 

Officials said auctions happened for 87 plots in Bahadurpally. 

Auctions for 145 plots in Thorrur, 14 plots in Turkayamjal, and 110 plots in Rangareddy district happened between November 16 and 22.  

The auction for one commercial plot in Mahbubnagar proceeded on November 23.  

The government chose to allot leftover Rajiv Swagruha flats at Pocharam and Bandlaguda on a lottery basis. 

Open plots were auctioned in Adilabad, Karimnagar, Kamareddy, Mahbubnagar, Nizamabad, Nalgonda, and Vikarabad. Fifteen acres of land at Alampally and 3.5 acres in Gangaram in Vikarabad were auctioned. 

Sources proclaim that money accumulated will be financed in government welfare schemes and infrastructure improvement works.
