Central Government to Take Up (ORR) Project In Hyderabad

The country's first Outer Ring Road (ORR) project on the outskirts of Hyderabad will be built parallel to the outer ring rail, says Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy. At a press conference in New Delhi, Kishan Reddy said the Centre had sanctioned Rs14 crore for surveys to construct the outer ring rail.

The Centre would bear 50 percent of the project's land acquisition cost, adding that 99 percent of the route map preparations have been completed. Kishan Reddy said that junctions would be established in areas connecting Vijayawada, Guntur, Warangal, Nizamabad, Medak, Mumbai and Vikarabad rail lines as part of the project.

The project would benefit people who travel through these routes as they could get off near the Outer Ring Road without going into the city and getting on a road or rail to their respective destinations.

This project provides a wide range of significant economic benefits to both the business and transport sectors. "This project will surely benefit many people living in Hyderabad and the surrounding areas in the long run," he said.
