On Wednesday, GHMC revealed a 13-ward office layout to improve public-government relations. This effort tries to resolve ward-level municipal facilities complaints. The opening of these new ward offices means level office systems in all 150 GHMC wards.
According to GHMC, citizens can now use nearby ward offices for work fulfilment, grievance submission, and State government recommendations instead of visiting circular or zonal offices.
On Wednesday, Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi inaugurated 13 ward offices in Red Hills, Chintal Basti, Mehdipatnam, and Goshamahal. She announced that the GHMC now publicly opens all 150 ward offices. The Zonal Commissioner, DCs, and corporators attended.
"If citizens have complaints about other wards, they can be sent to the concerned ward officials for resolution according to charter schedule," said Vijayalakshmi.
The Mayor instructed officers to be polite to visitors to ward offices to avoid provocation. Additionally, officers handle ward-related grievance inquiries and refer them to departments for resolution.
Registered concerns will be addressed quickly following the 'Citizen Charter.' Officers will be punished if they cannot resolve a matter within the specified timeframe.
GHMC claims that each ward contains 40,000 residents. Assistant Municipal Commissioners will handle departments in ward offices.
Ten officers from road maintenance, sanitation, entomology, town planning, power, and water supply will be staffed at these offices from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
