GHMC to develop 29 model road corridors worth Rs. 568 crores

To provide smooth travel for passengers, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has announced 29 new model road corridors.

They stretch to a length of 21 kilometres across four zones in the city. The estimated cost of the project was Rs. 568.2 crores.

They would also include cycle tracks, parking spaces, service roads, footpaths, etc.

Private agencies undertook these roadworks through a detailed road maintenance programme for five years.

Three model corridors in the Charminar zone were to come up, and more between the Habsiguda Crossroad Musi river bridge and Nagole bridge-LB Nagar Roads.

Roads between Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, the Rethibowli Junction and the Hand Symbol Junction were also to see improvements.

A majority of these works were to be taken up in the Khairatabad zone, covering routes like the Tolichowki Flyover to Surya Nagar Junction, Shiva Temple to SM Junior College, and Misha Medical to Traffic Police Station, etc.
