HMDA to undertake lakefront development for Rangadhamuni Cheruvu

A beautiful lakefront is to be built around the areas of Rangadhamuni Cheruvu, also known as IDL Lake. The lakefront will offer recreational activities and many more exciting activities.

The lake will go through substantial development, with the HMDA undertaking the project valuing approximately Rs 9.80 crores. Minister KT Rama Rao laid the foundation stone for this project.

The HMDA has set a deadline of June 2023 to complete the project. The developed Rangadhamuni Cheruvu will have footpaths with paver blocks, cobblestone, and granite flooring on the central bund.

The HMDA will also formulate a kids’ play area, illuminate the recreational place, designate a food court, and develop a seating area for visitors.

For further beautification, sculptures will be installed, and a softscape will arise on the central bund.

An HMDA official stated, “Landscape, greenery, walkways, street furniture, and other required amenities will be developed so that people enjoy the lakefront.”
