HRDCL Pacing Up Works to Complete Proposed Four-Link Roads

Hyderabad Road Development Road Corporation Limited (HRDCL) is gearing up to complete works on a few more link roads by this month-end.

Laying of Four-Link and Slips Roads

The laying of the four-link road and slip roads in Road No.70 Jubilee Hills (Prashasan Nagar) to Narne Road No.78 was completed by Hyderabad Road Development Road Corporation Limited (HRDCL). KT Rama Rao, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, had inaugurated this major link road last month.

The other link roads are ready for inauguration from Serilingampally Zonal Office to NH 65 via Manjeera Pipeline Road covering 2.70 Kms, from HT line to Miyapur road covering 1 km and Neknampur road to Osman Sagar road via Alkapur Township covering 0.46 km in Manikonda Municipality under HMDA limits. HRDCL developed the four-link and slip roads by making effective use of the traffic-free routes at lockdowns to enhance smooth traffic flows in different areas.

Now the HRDCL department is gearing up to complete works on a few more link roads by this month-end. It is making all efforts for completion of works on corridor 23 from Old Mumbai Highway (Leather Park) to Road No 45, under HT line covering 1.2 km and corridor 26 from Mumbai old highway to Delhi Public School via Engineering Staff College covering 1.38 km.

These road works are taken up at an estimated cost of Rs.15.54 and Rs.19.51. In less than 90 days these link roads would be developed.

Road Development Works Progressing at Speed Pace

The state government had developed a special vehicle-HRDCL to completely plan the development of model road corridors on all major highways within the GHMC limits and adjacent urban local bodies. The objective was to provide minimal maintenance and investment to ensure convenient commuting on the major link roads.

Accordingly, around 44.7 km of 37 incomplete link roads are ongoing under Phase I at an approximate cost of Rs 313.65 crore. Four works have already been completed, and works on 19 roads are under progress at a rapid pace. There are 14 other works in the process of acquisition of land.

The locations were identified based on the gravity of traffic in the area, present ease of connectivity and population density. According to identification criteria, once the missing links are constructed, the distance between the two spots would be lowered by half compared to the current passage.

The locations were identified based on the momentum and the accessibility and population density of the traffic in the city. The distance between the two areas will be decreased by half in comparison to the present passage once the missing links have been constructed.

The infrastructure developments in Hyderabad would facilitate the smooth flow of traffic and help to attract residential property investment.
