Hyderabad development authority to auction 50 plots in Mokila on August 7

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), which has been focusing on the large plots and the infrastructure developers in land auctions in the western parts of the city, especially Kokapet, has now shifted its gears and is eyeing the middle and upper-middle-class sections.

The HMDA, which has developed a layout with 1,320 plots on 165 acres in Mokila village near Shankarpally, will now conduct an auction of 50 plots in its phase I on August 7.

Some official sources have revealed that the private developers have been selling the plots at Rs. 30,000 per sq yard in Mokila and its surrounding areas.

"We are expecting an outstanding response as the auctions are primarily meant for medium and upper medium working class people and employees to own their houses," a special chief secretary (municipal administration) Arvind Kumar told the STOI.
