Hyderabad is the hub for Grade-A malls

Hyderabad is the best destination for malls. With more than 3.9 million sqft of Grade A space leased during January–June, Hyderabad retained more than 52% of the total Grade A space in India.

While 93 million sqft was leased during January-June 2022, about 7.2 million sqft occurred in Hyderabad. The share of Grade B and C malls numbered 21% and 27%, respectively.

At the national level, Grade A mall space was 36 million sqft or about 39% of the whole inventory in 2022's first half.

Grade A mall is depicted by high occupancy, potent tenant mix, good location, and active management.

Grade B mall stock has an okayish occupancy and tenant mix.

Grade C malls have high vacancy rates, inadequate tenant mix, and unsatisfactory management.

Real estate and investment management player JLL said Hyderabad would be one of the pivotal contributors to the mall's category besides Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Chennai.
