To look into the problem of overcrowded metro trains, the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) decided to increase the frequency of the trains to less than three minutes during peak hours.
In response to a tweet shared by a Twitterati, the Managing Director of HMRL NVS Reddy addressed it.
He said they had asked L&T's top management to acquire more trains, but he said that it is a time taking task.
He also said that the platform length would increase at Ameerpet metro station.
Every day, around 4.5 lakh Hyderabad passengers depend on Metro Rail, and though the trains aren't occupied to reach the maximum level, some routes at certain times witness heavy rush.
Some people have suggested a solution to eradicate this problem. They advised increasing the number of bogies from three to six.
Even though the HMRL is constantly working to better the passenger's travel experiences by taking new initiatives, the metro rail has not yet extended to the Old City.
