KCR to Inaugurate Airport Express Metro on December 9th

KCR scheduled to inaugurate Airport Express Metro on December 9th.

In a tweet posted on Sunday, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao announced that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is scheduled to lay the foundation for the Airport Express Metro on December 9. 

This project, extending from Mindspace junction to Shamshabad (Hyderabad International Airport), will span 31 kilometres and is estimated to cost around Rs 6,250 crore. Minister KT Rama Rao expressed his excitement about Hyderabad's progress and shared the news of CM KCR's upcoming foundation stone ceremony in his tweet. 

The Airport Express Metro is a government-funded project by the Telangana state, and it is expected to be completed within three years, as stated in another tweet by Minister Rama Rao. He also mentioned that discussions are ongoing with the Central government for a potential 31-kilometer city Metro expansion, covering the routes from BHEL to Lakdikapul (26 km) and Nagole to LB Nagar (5 km). 

The Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML), which will oversee the development, construction, operations, and management of the airport Metro link. Additionally, the GMR Group, has committed to investing approximately 10% of the total cost of the metro rail link project, aiming to enhance connectivity between the aerodrome and various parts of the city as proposed by the Telangana government.
