KTR inaugurates IGBC’s ‘Green Property Show’ at Hitex

IGBC, in collaboration with the Telangana government, kicked off a 3-day Green Property Show 2023 at Hitex on Friday, with speakers led by the State's IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao highlighting the economic and health benefits of green construction.? 

According to IGBC President Rajesh Kumar, the annual IGBC Green Property Show is a celebration of the rising trend of eco-friendly real estate. Everyone is welcome to participate in this revolutionary process, where eco-friendly ideas and cutting-edge technology unite to make homes better for the environment and their inhabitants. 

Mr. Rao mentioned that the Telangana government has enhanced its green footprint excellently. The minister was grateful to them for making India one of the top three countries with the most registered green buildings. 

The State has hosted the country's first green building (IGBC headquarters), home, airport, railway station, and factory building, in addition to having great success under the Haritha Haram plan to increase green cover. 

With rising urbanization, he said all new construction projects should be green by design, and existing structures should be retrofitted, citing the government's sustainability initiatives in its buildings. The list includes the new collectorate buildings, T Hub, T-Works, integrated Command Control Centre, and Secretariat. The districts' new industrial and IT parks are green-certified.
