12.7 mn sq ft of Leaseable area under REITs

REITs records 12.7 mn sq ft of leasable area in Hyderabad

Hyderabad recorded 12.7 million sq ft of leasable area under the Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), potentially an additional 1.8 million sq ft in the upcoming times.

Adding to this, the present leasable area can grow by more than 10%.

A recent study says India recorded 6.85% YoY growth in the total leasable area. REITs grew from 87.6 - 93.6 million sq ft from September 30, 2021, to September 30, 2022.

Vasanth Kamath, Founder & CEO of Smallcase said that “India’s REITs market is poised for accelerated growth as both investors and sponsors are drawing confidence from evolving regulatory framework, transparency, institutionalized ownership and ability to deliver robust returns. Regulations have also encouraged retail investors with a reduction in minimum subscription (from ?50,000-?15,000). This increases the liquidity for the entire REITs market and allows greater participation from young retail investors.”
