Mass transit in Hyderabad is about to be redefined with the Metro Rail extension plans brought up by the State government.
On Monday, the State Cabinet announced a massive plan to spend Rs 69,100 crore on a 415-kilometre extension of the Metro system that will run throughout the city, the rapidly developing suburbs, and beyond.
The exciting plans to create one of the most extensive Metro networks in the country aim to meet the current commuting needs of growing population. Once everything is set up, commuting from any part of the city to another will be super convenient and comfortable.
In addition to the BHEL-Lakdikapul line, the ORR has approved eight extensions and four corridors that encircle the city like a necklace. K. Chandrashekhar Rao, the state's chief minister, has issued directives to draft the project's initial report and subsequent thorough report.
Metro plans of the State government are to meet the need for more dynamic mass transit as the city expands in ever-widening circles and as progressive real estate results in additional agglomerations sprouting up.
These initiatives will provide comfortable commuting and help alleviate traffic problems shortly and for many years to come. The Metro network is designed to go in different directions to help spread growth and meet the needs of offices, businesses, and residential areas.
