Much Awaited Mindspace 830-Metre Flyover Inaugurated On 9 Nov, 2018

Chief Secretary SK Joshi inaugurated a flyover constructed at the Mindspace Junction on 9th Nov 2018. It is a part of the flyover, which is 830-metre long and 16.6-metre wide is part of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP). It also includes six-lane bidirectional underpass, service roads, utility duct and drain.

Infrastructure Developments in Hyderabad

  • As of now, over 14,000 vehicles travel on this route, and the number is expected to increase to 31,500 by 2035.
  • Till now SRDP has completed constructing 111 km of skyways, 366 km of major corridors, 166 km of major roads, and 2,500 km of minor roads in five phases in Hyderabad.
  • The underpass at Ayyappa Society, Mindspace Junction (Madhapur) and Chintalkunta (L.B.Nagar) besides the flyover at Kamineni Junction in L.B.Nagar are open to the general public to regulate traffic near the IT corridors.

How much did it Cost?

Mindspace junction flyover was constructed at the cost of Rs.48.06 crores and was completed in 16 months.

What Are the Benefits of Constructing the Flyover at Mindspace Junction?

  • The flyover facilitates two-way traffic flow from Inorbit Mall to IKEA. 
  • It reduces traffic congestion and fuel consumption.
  • It promises a smooth ride for commuters.

Upcoming Flyovers

  • The other projects in SRDP initiative, LB Nagar RHS flyover and Rajiv Gandhi flyover are expected to open by January 2019.
  • Also, the suspension bridge at Durgam Cheruvu will be completed by April 2019.
