Oman Air initiates cargo operations from Hyderabad.

On Wednesday, Oman Air inaugurated its cargo operations at GMR Hyderabad International Airport, utilizing its Boeing B737-800BCF aircraft to establish a direct route between Hyderabad and Muscat.

The airline is set to operate two weekly flights, scheduled for Tuesdays and Saturdays, with departures from Hyderabad at 2 p.m. The aircraft holds a one-way capacity of 22 metric tonnes, adding an extra 88 metric tonnes of weekly capacity to Hyderabad airport.

Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited, remarked, “The launch of Oman Air's freight services from Hyderabad airport not only links our diverse industries to the thriving local market but also opens up opportunities for businesses in nearby regions to access the global market.”

Utilizing the city's robust infrastructure, this connectivity is anticipated to bolster pharmaceutical exports to Oman and further onward to the United States and Europe, leveraging Muscat's role as a pivotal trans-shipment hub.
