Secretariat Construction Picks Up Pace

The impact of the pandemic on Indian real estate was devastating. This lull in the industry led to very few property transactions leaving many builders bewildered. Post the deadly second wave, the market is now attempting to come back on track.

The construction of Telangana’s Secretariat building started in November 2020, just when the spread was at its peak. With the pandemic taking us all by surprise, the construction of this massive project slowed down multi-folds. Once completed, the new Telangana Secretariat building will be the tallest structure in the country, overshadowing several historic monuments. Now, the construction has picked up the pace and is marching towards completion.

The secretariat is spread out over 3 acres of land, with the lower ground, ground, plus 11 floors. So far, the basement construction has been completed and work on the ground floor has been initiated. The proposed complex is surrounded by lush green visuals, sufficient parking space, and is equipped with state of art facilities.

The government gave the possession of the land to the construction company back in November 2020 with an agreement of handing over the finished project by the third week of November 2021. In spite of the catastrophic second wave, vaccines came to us all as a ray of hope. Over 1000 workers and the staff on-site were vaccinated ensuring smooth operations. However, officials are still unsure if the complex will be completed within the allotted time due to anticipated complications after resuming construction.

With proper planning and execution, the chief minister of the state wants to build a strong structure that is equipped enough to withstand an earthquake and stay upright for years to come.
