Telangana's Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), had recently unveiled Asia's largest government-funded housing complex, 'KCR Nagar,' in Kollur, which is located on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
This project aims to address the various housing needs of the weaker sections of the society, and has been constructed over an expansive area of 145.50 acres.
With a total cost of Rs. 1432.50 crores, the housing complex comprises 15,660 double-bedroom flats divided into 117 blocks.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of Telangana Chief Minister KCR, along with several cabinet colleagues and government officials.
KCR planted a sapling on the premises and inspected the housing units using a battery-operated vehicle.
The complex boasts numerous amenities, including parks with cycling and walking tracks, a bus terminal, a fire station, petrol bunks, schools, banks, and post offices.
It also encompasses three shopping complexes with 118 shops, offering convenience to the residents.
