The Telangana government has decided to mobilise about Rs. 13,000 crores to fund various welfare schemes and projects by selling and regularising the land parcels.
It put the Rajiv Swagruha flats for auction in Bandlaguda and Pocharam.
The Chief Secretary, Santha Kumari, is working on increasing non-tax revenue, which generally comes from auctioning land parcels and other resources.
Official sources have said auctionable land parcels have been identified in the city's surrounding areas.
The government has been auctioning land not only in Greater Hyderabad but also in various districts.
More sources in the state government said, "Officials are notifying the applicants of GO 59, and nearly 14,000 applications are pending with the government."
However, the officials mentioned that the state government is keen on revenue mobilisation as this is the election year.
They will also continue implementing welfare schemes like the Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima and other projects.
The state government had also made changes in the budget for the schemes, apart from allocating about Rs. 12,000 crores for 2-BHK houses and other projects.
