Telangana New Govt to Prioritize Improving Hyd- Vijayawada Highway

The new Congress government in Telangana will give top priority to widening and improving of Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway to reduce the travel time between two cities, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said. Also, the Hyderabad to Vijayawada 6–lane road to be completed by Oct 24 they declared. 

Telangana's newly established Congress government would prioritize widening and improving the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway to cut travel time. After taking over at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy pledged this.  

Minister Venkat Reddy pledged to reduce the Hyd-BZA highway travel duration to 2.5 hours. He wants to meet with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi to request a six-lane highway.  

On Monday, he will travel to New Delhi to resign from the Lok Sabha and discuss Telangana highway projects with Minister Gadkari. He wants 14 state roads, including Mallepally-Nalgonda and Regional Rong Road (RRR) South-Choutuppal-Amangal-Shadnagar-Sangareddy, as national highways by the Center.  

The minister would also promote the four-lane Hyderabad-Kalwakurthy National Highway 765. He wants to increase Telangana's Central Road Infrastructure Fund's (CRIF) budget.  

Venkat Reddy allocated Rs 100 crore to four-lane the Nalgonda-Mushampally-Dharmapuram road in Nalgonda district immediately after gaining office. He also mentioned the Rs 4.15 crore Lingampally-Dudyal road improvement in Vikarabad district.  

  The minister promised to restore all highways the following month, addressing the decade-long neglect of highway development. Venkat Reddy planned to rehabilitate the historic Assembly building for Legislative Council sessions. Beautifying the public garden and Lalita Kala Thoranam is another goal.
