In Pragathi Bhavan, the Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao held meetings with legislators of the parliamentary constituency of Malkajgiri to review development activities in the GHMC area.

MLA’s Proposed Infrastructure Developments

MLAs from assembly constituencies belonging to the Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency urged Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao to develop at least one major crematorium per constituency falling within the GHMC area as soon as possible. They also persuaded him to undertake development works and beautify existing water bodies to establish recreational spots in the city.

The MLAs said the lockdown period was well used to lay and improve infrastructure within the GHMC area, evoking a positive citizen response. They informed about work undertaken during the quarantine period in their respective assemblies. They were glad that GHMC was developing infrastructure at a fast pace, which has transformed entire areas such as the LB Nagar junction and others.

The road development and transport issues have undergone major changes at several locations as a consequence of the work undertaken in the Strategic Road Development Project (SRDP). The legislators said that they were also satisfied with ongoing sanitary work, and the Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board of Hyderabad (HMWSSB) was doing efficiently the sewerage management.

As per the MLAs request, Minister Rama Rao announced that approximately 75,000 double bedroom homes will be made available by the end of this year under the Dignity Housing Scheme. Also confirmed that the construction of footpaths and public toilets in the GHMC area will be speeded up. The legislators made submissions to minister in their respective districts on a variety of planned development works.
