An upcoming 2.62-kilometre-long steel flyover is under progress.
This is to address the age-old issues of traffic and the promise of conflict-free traffic movement near the VST junction, the RTC X-Road and other surrounding areas.
The works are taking place on the four-lane bi-directional elevated corridor between Indira Park and the VST.
An additional three-lane 850m long flyover between Ram Nagar and BaghLingampally is also under progress, with an estimated cost of Rs. 76 crores.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) plans to have them completed and ready for inauguration on Telangana Formation Day.
“We hope to have them ready for inauguration by MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao on Telangana Formation Day,” an official stated.
These two flyovers will offer multiple benefits and are expected to decongest the flowing traffic.
They will also ensure the free flow of traffic towards Osmania University and Hindi Maha Vidyalaya.
Both these projects are being built under the Telangana government’s Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP).
They have been taken up not only to address the age-old traffic issues but also to establish proper road infrastructure for the coming decades.
