Metro lines to extend to RGIA with the Airport Express Metro project.   

The Hyderabad Airport Metro Express Project worth ?6,250-crore, stretching 31 km, will most likely be elevated, barring 2.5 km of the airport's underground section. The elevated area will equal the phase one project. It will connect the Raidurg section to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport section, Shamshabad.   

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is going to lay the foundation stone for the project on December 9. The government has decided to provide funds. Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited will work towards preparing detailed reports.  

There are bleak chances of any changes in the road alignments within city limits and the ORR.  

The Airport Metro stations will most probably be around Biodiversity Junction, Nanakramguda, Narsingi, TS Police Academy, Rajendranagar, Shamshabad, Airport Cargo station, and Terminal. With trains moving at 100 kmph, commuting will be fast and efficient.  

Reports concluded that finalizing the works contract could take months before the project commences.
