Eurofins, a global leader in life testing, aims to invest Rs1,000cr and hire 2,000 people over the next few years, according to Industries and IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao.
Eurofins opens its bio-pharma services campus with over one lakh sq ft of laboratory and office space on 15 acres in Genome Valley, Hyderabad.
On Thursday, Industries and IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao inaugurated Eurofins' second Indian campus, which will offer global pharmaceutical companies discovery chemistry, discovery biology, safety toxicology, bio-analytical services, and formulation development.
According to a release, Eurofins' opening on Thursday is another step toward Genome Valley's goal of being a global hub for innovation and R&D.
The corporation claims Eurofins leads life sciences and other testing services worldwide. Eurofins Advinus provides R&D services to the pharmaceutical and agro-sciences industries in India. According to director Neeraj Garg, Genome Valley was a desirable investment destination for Eurofins regional due to the ecology and ease of doing business in Hyderabad.
Rajiv Malik, Eurofins Advinus managing director, said the Hyderabad campus will be developed to become the showpiece facility for Eurofins in India, offering services from discovery to development to GMP testing for small and large molecules.
