Skanda Aerospace Technology manufactures aerospace gear and gearboxes in Hyderabad for defence and commercial aircraft.
A joint venture between Hyderabad-based Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools and U.S. firm Rave Gears has spent Rs 75 crore in the initial phase and aims to invest an additional Rs 150 crore over the next 2-3 years.
Industries and IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and Telangana Director of Aerospace and Defence P.A. Rave Gears has committed to $9 million yearly orders, Skanda Aerospace announced Tuesday.
The launch of Skanda is a major milestone in India's efforts to improve its aerospace and defence systems. The facility has great potential to influence the trajectory of aerospace manufacturing in India and beyond, according to Raghu Vamsi, managing director of Vamsi Vikas.
CNC accuracy and sophisticated aircraft gear production will be emphasized. The company said the new facility has top-notch gear-grinding machines. Over the following three years, the new factory will employ 1,000 people from 150. In a press release, Mr. Praveen said this facility will shape regional aerospace production.
