Government Huge Funds to Telangana Double Bedroom Scheme

An amount of Rs 11,917 crore has been allocated to the Housing Department in Budget 2020-21. The government has allocated the huge funds in the proposed budget to fulfil the TRS party's election promise for helping those who wish to build a double-bedroom house on their land. With this huge budget allocations, the good news for homeless poor is that their six-year-long wait and dream of becoming owners of the dignified house is becoming real.

According to sources, construction of around 1.7 lakh 2BHK houses in Hyderabad has already been completed, while the works of one lakh more sanctioned houses are in progress. The State government has spent over Rs 7,000 crore on the housing scheme. The TRS government has decided to fulfil its promise made in 2018 assembly elections manifesto of giving Rs 5 lakhs for eligible families who have own lands to construct 2BHK houses.

However, with the new budget 2020-21, the govt aims to provide low-cost houses to all homeless and mitigate the housing gap in India.
