Challenges persist for IT firms to call employees back to the office

Hyderabad’s IT sector is one major reason behind its rapid growth and development. It hosts a large proportion of the country’s highest contributing multinational companies, BPO’s as well as luxurious IT parks. The city gives many IT firms, big or small, a platform to excel in their league. This additionally also generates many job opportunities countrywide attracting people of all age groups. Along with being known as the city of nizam, one can also call Hyderabad “the hub of IT developers”

The pandemic hit the country as well as the world severely making health everyone’s topmost priority. The #newnormal or the work from home culture slid in making offline working a mandatory decision. With the COVID graph flattening after the second wave, IT firms in Hyderabad mean to get their employees back at their desks rather than working from home.

Even though offline working is far more productive and fun-filled, how many of those who have moved back to their respective hometowns would agree upon getting back? Not only this, other problems hover this issue, one of the biggest one being, partially vaccinated people.

HSYEA - Hyderabad Software Enterprise Association is home to 300 members and is a major contributor to Telangana’s IT industry revenue sitting at 90%. With such a large workforce, convincing all the employees to shift their base yet again with COVID still existing seems to be the largest challenge that every company will face today.

The pandemic slowed the hiring process but the hiring process never stopped. This means the demand and the influx of projects have consistently been there making WFH slightly difficult keeping in mind the liaising required to successfully execute the process. Some employees find it comfortable to come back and work from the office while another few still want to #stayhome

This may not have impacted the IT industry much but it has slightly affected the real estate market with not many homebuyers. Hoping that the pandemic leaves the planet soon and life goes back to normalcy sooner.
