For the airport metro, Telangana has invited global tenders

The Hyderabad airport metro rail project has started with the Telangana government inviting global tenders to select EPC contractors to work on the project.

The tender contract value for the project is approximately Rs. 5,688 crores covering the 31 km corridor between Raidurg and the airport terminal station.

All work related to this project has been going on since the foundation of the airport metro was laid by the Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao.

As a result, the elevated portion of the track will span 29.3 km, and the underground segment will stretch for 1.7 km.

The airport metro network will comprise nine stations, including the underground one.

The project is estimated to cost the government Rs. 6,250 crores, which is higher than the cost of the tender.

The preliminary work for the project, like survey, alignment fixation, etc., has been completed, and soil testing is ongoing, officials said.
