Telangana CM announces the distribution of new podu land pattas

After almost a year of exercising and detailed surveys, the Telangana government will begin the distribution of podu land pattas to tribals.

To begin with, podu land pattas will be given to 1.55 lakh tribals covering an extent of four lakh acres. So far, over 11 lakh tribals have applied for the pattas.

The Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, who held a review meeting with ministers and officials, had announced that tribal farmers would also get ‘Rythu Bandhu’.

He directed the officials to the data of those already getting ‘Rythu Bandhu’ under Recognition of Forest Rights (RoFR) and the new patta beneficiaries.

The officials were told to collect the bank account details of farmers who get new pattas and to deposit the ‘Rythu Bandhu’ amount in their accounts.

The CM said he would attend the programme to distribute podu land pattas on the first day.

KCR had said that the pattas would be given to the poor and eligible.
