GHMC Starts OPD Clinics for Covid-19 Patients

In a first, The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has launched nearly 6,000 Covid-19 outpatient clinics (OPD clinics) across the state, including several in Hyderabad. These OPD clinics will function from existing government-run Basti Dawakhanas, PHCs and other health facilities. 

The idea behind the launch of OPD clinics is to prevent mild Covid-19 cases from turning serious. Most patients with mild symptoms are resorting to self-medication and are only going for tests at least seven to eight days later. In order to prevent this delay in treatment, the government has decided to launch these OPD clinics.  

The Chief Secretary has informed that a total of 5,980 Covid-19 OPD clinics are being opened across the State.   Here’s the distribution across various medical institutions of the state:
