Hyderabad Civic Body Conducts Vaccine E-coupons Drive

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), in order to ensure that only high-risk beneficiaries are administered with a free vaccine, has started conducting vaccine drives via e-couponing.

Government's COVID Vaccine Drive

The city officials who distributed the vaccine coupons by visiting stalls in the context of the Covid 19 massive vaccine drive now registering them in the State government's vaccine portal and generating e-coupons. The GHMC Serilingampally circle and parts of the Khairatabad area are on a rapid pace, and plans to extend the project to other parts of the city are drawn up.

For example, select GHMC staff received login credentials from the government app as part of the process to switch to e-coupons from manual coupons. These staff visited the food shops and markets — vegetables, fruits, and meat — in order to identify the beneficiaries.

When the beneficiaries have been shortlisted, their details are entered on the website, after which the beneficiaries receive text messages to use as free jab vouchers. The person must enter his premises by showing an e-coupon in the vaccination center

Around 516 e-coupons were issued in the GHMC Serilingampally circle and on Sunday 464 people visited the vaccination center. For the third consecutive day, the drive took place successfully throughout the city. On Sunday, approximately 22,603 individuals were given GHMC vaccine limits.

In the drive, around 3 lakh people were vaccinated by the civic government. Workers at the bazars, grocery shops, wine shops, street vendors, salon shops, laundry service, paba (betel leaf) shops and markets (vegetable, fruits, flowers, chicken, meat, fish) have been classified as high-risk groups and are eligible for vaccinations free of charge.
