Hyderabad Civic Body Takes Up Fever Survey in Micro-containment Zones

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has initiated a fever survey in micro containment zones as part of its efforts to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic in the city. Extensive disinfectant-spraying in the 63 areas identified by the municipal body has also been performed in addition to the fever survey.

GHMC Conducts Fever Survey

Dr Chandra Shekar, GHMC Assistant Medical Officer of Health (AMOH), Kukatpally, stated that ASHA's workers and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) were roped in for the door-to-door survey. Telephonic conversations with residents have also been conducted as a part of the door-to-door exercise to cover more parts of the town.

Based on the survey, an evaluation is being carried out. Disinfection of the micro containment areas has also been carried out by the Enforcement, Vigilance and Disaster Management (EVDM) department of GHMC and its entomology wing.

In various parts of the city, the spraying of disinfectants is underway. Saturday, 31 areas were sanitized in six GHMC zones by the Disaster Response Force (DFR) teams. In future, spraying will continue as well, said EVDM Director Viswajit Kampati.

In contrast to last year, the GHMC chose not to barricade the house of a person, who has tested positive or paste a quarantine sticker. N Sudhamsh, the GHMC Deputy Commissioner,  Chandanagar Circle, informed that their focus has become more on making people aware of the pandemic.
