Residents of Hyderabad took to social media to vent their anger against the Ease of Living Index, 2020 Rankings, in which the City of Pearls ranked 24th. As per the denizens, their city is way ahead of other cities in India on every count of social and economic life.
Mahesh Reddy, an entrepreneur, tweeted: “A city like Hyderabad which is fast growing in every aspect is given 24th rank in ease of living index by Union Housing and Urban Ministry. The centre is so partial (sic) towards Telangana.”
Echoing similar emotions, a senior government official, requesting anonymity, told the media, “Since 2015, for five consecutive years, Hyderabad has been adjudged the best city in quality of living index by the organization. This speaks volumes about Hyderabad. It is strange that the city is not even ranked among the top three cities (sic).”
The city of Hyderabad has indeed seen rapid progress in recent years, thanks to the growth of IT and finance companies in the region. The value of the real estate has also exponentially increased, making the city a hub of all real estate investments. The real estate growth has also mirrored the development of urban and social infrastructure, with the city boasting of world-class roads, foot-over bridges, flyovers and underpasses. If you are thinking of buying a property, then this is the right time.
