Khursheed Jah Dev's works were delayed, defying the announcement.

The long-awaited restoration and repair works of the historic Khursheed Jah Devdi in the old city, costing approximately Rs 12 crores, haven't begun despite the announcement made by the Municipal Administration Department.

Special Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Municipal Administration, Arvind Kumar, stated the restoration plans during his visit to Khursheed Jah Devdi. However, no visible progress has been seen yet.

Activist Syed Miskeen said that the Municipal Administration Department seems to boast about minor works while doing almost nothing about the promise made.

The Telangana government had announced its commitment to restoring the grandeur of Khursheed Jah Devdi at the beginning of 2023, stating that the renovation operation would take estimated two years.

The restoration of Khursheed Jah Devdi, an emblem of heritage in the old city, remains undone, marking the concerns of citizens and activists who keenly await the preservation of this historic gem.

The delay in beginning the restoration works of Khursheed Jah Devdi arouses doubts about the fulfilment and application of heritage preservation projects under the Municipal Administration Department.
