In the interactive session held by HYSEA on building the brand Hyderabad, KT Rama Rao, IT and Industrial minister talked about improving conditions of civic infrastructure and the role played by their government in ensuring the same. He also indicates that this is likely to be a constant and continuous process and in the last six years, significant improvement has been witnessed in the power situation of the state. 

These were some of the key highlights that he presented in the session: 

• Hyderabad is a home for people from across the world. People and their interests have been given the required attention
• Hyderabad over the past few years has been emerging as the investment magnet for the world
• A lot of emphases was on urging the youth to participate and exercise their rights to vote and contribute in building up the state more
• As per the report presented to highlight various government initiatives thus far towards development of the state, nearly INR 6000 crores was spent to aid the construction of flyovers, bridges, under bridges, foot over bridges and other amenities 
• Link roads have been developed from ESCI to Khajaguda and from Old Mumbai Road to road no.45
• State government has also solved major water crisis by creating an alternate source of drinking water 
• Drainage and storm water system has also been improved that did cost around INR 2,000 Crores 
• Government has also initiated a Strategic Nala Development programme to prevent recurrence of floods

One of the key policies that this government introduced was Growth in dispersion policy. This is one of a kind Integrated Township Policy to encourage and bolster the self contained townships that advocate – live, work, play, learn projects around the Outer Ring Road. It aims to reduce the burden on the core city. 

It also tends to give additional incentives to companies to generate employment opportunities. 

IT Exports has also registered unprecedented growth this year as it has now reached to 1,28,000 crores this year from INR 57,000 crores in 2015. Apart from that top notched companies such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, and several other marquee names have also got their operations registered on a gigantic scale. Amazon is also planning to set up its fulfillment center in Hyderabad. AWS (Amazon's Data Center) is going to be set up in Hyderabad. 

Over the years, Telangana has emerged as the most successful startup state in Independent India. Now, the ministry has its focus set on 3Ds– Digitisation, decarbonisation, and decentralisation. 

New Wave and Food processing textiles

The focus in the post covid world is clearly shifted to health and wellness and in this direction, a step seems to have taken in the right direction towards electric vehicles in order to reduce excessive carbon emissions. Telangana has successfully launched electric vehicle policy and the state has managed to attract the investments of more than INR 3,000 Crores on the inaugural day of the policy.

TS is now hopeful towards enabling the scope for food processing. It can cater to other states as well and The State is also planning to set up the biggest textile park in Warangal. The commitment to provide employment to more than 12,000 people is also one of the key focuses and also considering the fact that Hyderabad as a location is quite suitable in logistics. 

Aerospace and Defense 

Hyderabad over a considerable period of time has been gaining traction in Defence and Aerospace sector. The minister points out the pride of manufacturing US President's helicopter cabinets. He never misses to highlight that Kalyani Rafael has chosen the city for its missile factory. Apart from this, the entire ecosystem of defense is present in Hyderabad city. He also talks about Azad, the manufacturing company which has bagged quite a lot of orders in the recent time. He immensely believes in the innate ability and power to create entrepreneurs who can take Hyderabad to newer peaks. 

Proactive government has also been highlighted as one of the biggest strengths of the current government. The work that's been brought to the forefront in the challenging times of COVID'19 by Covid warriors including the police, health, sanitation workers, and others has been immensely commendable and effectively executed. He also significantly highlights,  "The IT industry here in Hyderabad has been recovering at 1.5 times faster rate than the other cities from the impact of COVID'19 and showing exemplary resilience throughout".
