Nehru Zoological Park recently celebrated World Earth Day on April 22. On the occasion, a clean green drive was held on the premises of the park. The curator of the zoological park, Subhadra Devi, said since 2006, the zoo has imposed a ban on the use of plastics. She also implored visitors to keep the zoon clean and plastic-free. 

Earth Day is an annual event held to demonstrate support for the environment. Hyderabad, as a city, has been at the forefront of environmental protection. Earlier, the city gained the unique status as the “Tree City in the World” from an UN-based organization.
