Over 1,400 People Found With Covid-19 Symptoms in GHMC Survey

To counter the spread of the second wave of COVID-19 infections, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials took a door-to-door survey to find out how many people had symptoms of the viral disease.

In the survey, at least 40,000 homes were visited and 1,487 people were found to have a fever and COVID-related symptoms. The state government commissioned the survey and finished it in two days with the support of 707 teams from 30 corporate circles. 

The Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA), Auxiliary Nurses (ANMs), and Entomology staff members were part of the team. Thermal scanners were used by the teams and over 1,400 people who were known to have fever were given COVID-19 health kits. 

GHMC, in a statement, said that their COVID-19 helpline has received 250 calls overall, within 48 hours of being operational.
