Rs 600 Crore Financial Aid Granted for 2BHK houses in Urban Areas

With an aim to help those who wish to construct a double-bedroom house on their own land, the Telangana government on 5th November has allocated Rs 600 crore for construction of houses in urban areas.

The state government granted administrative sanction for 2BHK housing scheme in a key step ahead of the GHMC election. The government's recent allocation also covers the Greater Hyderabad area.

Government's Huge Financial Aid for 2BHK Units

The government allocated Rs 3,750 crore to the housing scheme in the state budget for 2020-21 and has so far made Rs 150 crore available. The latest budget release (BRO) order of Rs 600 crore provides Rs 750 crore with the complete distribution of funds.

The housing guidelines also indicated that Telangana State Housing Corporation Limited had asked the state to issue a BRO Rs 2,850.

The BJP has charged the government not to send a list of beneficiaries to the Centre. However, the government of the TRS states that the central government has allocated some funds.

Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav recently participated in the verbal debate over the number of houses built in the city, along with CLP chief BhattiVikramarka. Later, some of the homes for the needy were taken around by the minister Vikramarka.
