In its meeting on Tuesday, the GHMC Standing Committee approved 23 proposals in all, including one table item. The committee has given the go-ahead for bidders and accepted a plan for a $6 million stormwater drain between Vijayapuri Colony and SRL Colony. 

Four lakes—Mulgaurd Lake in the Rajendranagar village of Premavatipet, Eerla Cheruvu in Madinaguda, Yellamma Cheruvu in Kukatpally, and Bhageerathamma Cheruvu in the village of Puppalguda—have also had proposals for sewage diversion canals approved for tenders, with estimates of Rs.3 crores,of Rs2.63 crores,of Rs2.74 crores andof Rs2.57 crore respectively. 

The committee has authorized the sanction of funds totaling 3.0 crore for constructing sluice gates for Pedda Cheruvu in Saroornagar village and 2.42 crore for repairing KLNY Park in Sanathnagar. 

A table item approved by the committee included the sanctioning of 2.5 crores for the construction of a 60-foot CC road between the Old Chatrinaka Police Station and the Uppuguda Mahankali Temple as part of the Strategic Road Development Plan.
