Upcoming Digital Survey of Land Will Resolve Land Disputes in Telangana

To put an end to land disputes, the Government plans to launch a Digital Land Survey in Telangana.

Telangana Digital Land Survey Act

On Friday, Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao said VROs abolishment was just the start of the radical retail reforms, and soon the Government would undertake a comprehensive digital land survey in Telangana which would end 99% of land disputes.

There are already 87 revenue acts in Telangana. All other activities, except Dharani and Records of Rights Acts, will resume. The Government cuts out those who do not have relevant documents and which causes problems for the people.

As per the previous regime's approach on revenue and land issues, there were non-scientific actions and contributed to problems. In elections, some parties used to allocate pattas to the poor without displaying land or borders. As a result, the real land volume would be smaller, while the allocation of land on documents shown higher.

The Government can not be a silent observer, which is why, by new actions, it seeks to address problems in a phased pattern. In different revenue courts, 16,000 cases are pending and 2,000 in high courts. Survey of lands will essentially solve these problems. Yet, relative to the size of the land and the number of farmers, the litigation rate is minimal.

The CM denied arguments by some opposition members that the portal of Dharani and other procedural changes would lead to disputes over land. He said TS Technical services would assist the web portal by the revenue department and three types of land records will be preserved. For the protection of land records, the Government will take every measure.

He said if a family Member has grievances, they can approach the tahsildar to stop the process. Because there were problems in transferring succession properties or lands where the Government had suggested a joint family agreement for the mutation of heritage properties.

The upcoming new digital land survey act would help to overcome all land disputes and upgrade transparent real estate transactions.
