Builders Aim to Construct Apartments in Hyderabad Over 40-Floor Mark

The skyline of Hyderabad might change soon. Over the next four to five years, there will be a flurry of projects along with the IT corridor, which will have at least 40 floors. Many builders are hoping get the 'highest building' tag in the city.

Plans to Build High-Rise Buildings in Hyderabad

In February, a 44-story residential building in the Financial District, by the Bangalore-based Sumadhura Group, was given the green signal from city government in February. 'Sumadhura Olympus' is expected to be available by 2025. It is being marketed as the highest building in Hyderabad.

However, in Narsingi, it is home-grown 'Provincia of Rajapushpa Properties' which hopes to keep this title. Officials stated that this project already has G+39 floors and has sold most of the top floors – despite the basic price mark of Rs 6,549 per square feet (sq.ft).

“The top floor is on demand, as well as those that are above the 30th floor," said P Sreenivas Reddy, executive director of the Company, to media, adding that their reason to go vertically was to have greater space around the project.

These apart, there is a host of other projects, planned to have 40 or more floors. All of them are set for the west wing of Hyderabad, priced at Rs 6,500-7,000 per sq.ft, on an average, said a leading realtor.

However, civic officials are ensuring that so far only certain buildings are being permitted. Most permits are still limited to 30-32 floors in the city’s core area. These are projects in the periphery which are used for more than 40 structures, declared the Chief City Planner Devender Reddy of GHMC.
