Fastest Developing City in Telangana is Karimnagar - Gangula Kamalakar

On Sunday, 20th Dec BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar said Karimnagar is the state's fastest-growing city.

Having a conversation after laying the foundation stone for municipal park works taken up here at the cost of Rs 20 lakh, Kamalakar said that in addition to protecting parklands, municipal parks were developed in the city for the public for recreation purpose. After the new corporate council took charge, approximately 20 parks were built.

Infrastructure Developments in Karimnagar

All earthen roads have been transformed into CC roads, in addition to the construction of link roads. During the time of the previous government, allocating funds to municipalities was a major issue. However, after the formation of the State of Telangana, the situation has changed.

During the last three years, Karimnagar Corporation has earned Rs 350 crore under a scheme to allocate Rs 100 crore to every municipal corporation every year. There were no delays in continuing development work in the town.

After assuring role as Chief Minister, Chandrasekhar Rao planned to set up the city on all fronts during his inaugural visit to Karimnagar. The Chief Minister, fulfilling his word, approved Rs 120 crore to lay down all main roads. IT tower and cable bridge roads have been laid so far in addition to LMD bund road development.

Under the guidelines of the Chief Minister and Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, KT Rama Rao, a lot of development work has taken place in the town. Karimnagar is the only municipal corporation in the entire state which supplies drinking water on a daily basis.
